Krokanti Notes is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means it works great on mobile browsers without downloading anything from an app store. You can also install it to your home screen for a native-app feel.

Installing on Your Phone

iPhone / iPad (Safari)

Open notes.krokanti.com in Safari
Tap the Share button (the square with an arrow)
Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen
Tap Add — the Krokanti Notes icon appears on your home screen

Android (Chrome)

Open notes.krokanti.com in Chrome
Tap the three-dot menu (⋮) in the top right
Tap Add to Home screen or Install app
Tap Install

After installing, Krokanti Notes opens full-screen without browser chrome — indistinguishable from a native app.

Mobile Navigation

The mobile layout has a two-panel design:

Notes list: swipe right from the editor, or tap the back arrow ← in the toolbar
Editor: tap any note in the list to open it

The bottom toolbar in the editor gives you quick access to formatting. Tap the pen icon to expand the full formatting toolbar. Tap the ⋯ menu to access actions (encrypt, version history, share, export).

Long-Press for Context Menu

Long-press any note in the list to:

Select it (enters multi-select mode)
Access quick actions: pin, move to folder, share, trash

After long-pressing, tap additional notes to add them to the selection, then use the action bar that appears at the bottom.

Offline Mode

Krokanti Notes works offline. Notes are stored locally using IndexedDB (via the built-in offline engine). When you lose your connection:

You can still read and edit all your notes
New notes and edits are queued and synced automatically when you reconnect
The app shell loads from cache — no network needed to open the app

Secure (encrypted) notes that are locked and have unsaved changes will wait until you unlock them before syncing — your PIN never leaves your device.

Tips for Small Screens

Focus mode: tap the expand icon in the toolbar to hide the notes list and go full-screen in the editor — great for focused writing on a phone
Swipe: on iOS, swipe right from the left edge to go back to the notes list
Landscape mode: rotating to landscape gives you more horizontal space for the editor
External keyboard: Krokanti Notes supports all standard keyboard shortcuts when a Bluetooth keyboard is connected to your phone or tablet

Sync Across Devices

Your notes sync automatically across all devices. Changes made on your phone appear on your desktop (and vice versa) within 30 seconds, even without any action on your part.

If you edit the same note on two devices simultaneously, Krokanti Notes detects the conflict and shows a banner letting you choose which version to keep or merge manually.
