Public Note Links

Share any note publicly with a unique URL — no account required for viewers. Great for sharing reference docs or portfolios.

Public links let you share a note with anyone on the internet — no Krokanti Notes account required to view it. Anyone with the link can read your note.

Making a Note Public

  1. Open the note you want to share
  2. Click the globe icon (🌐) in the editor toolbar
  3. Toggle Make public on
  4. A unique public URL is generated immediately — copy it with the copy button

The URL looks like: https://notes.krokanti.com/public/your-note-title-abc12345

Share this URL anywhere — email, Slack, social media, your own website.

The public URL is stable — it doesn't change if you edit the note title or content. Updates to the note are reflected in the public view within seconds.

What Viewers See

Visitors to the public URL see:

  • The note title
  • Formatted note content (rich text, tables, checklists — read-only)
  • Mermaid diagrams (rendered)

They do not see:

  • Your name or email
  • Tags, folders, or other metadata
  • Edit controls of any kind

Making a Note Private Again

  1. Open the note
  2. Click the globe icon in the toolbar
  3. Toggle Make public off

The public URL immediately stops working — visitors see a "not found" page.

Anyone with the link can read the note while it's public — including search engines. Don't publish notes containing passwords, API keys, or other sensitive information.

Public Links vs. Sharing

Requires account❌ No✅ Yes
Can edit❌ No✅ Yes (if given edit permission)
Specific people only❌ Anyone with link✅ Yes
Real-time sync✅ Yes (read-only)✅ Yes

Use public links for broadcasting content. Use sharing for collaboration with specific people.

View Count

When a note is public, you can see how many times it's been viewed. Open the note and check the stats section at the bottom of the editor, or visit your stats dashboard.
